What to Say After a Bad Dream

Bad dreams can leave a person shaken, anxious, or afraid — but the Prophet ﷺ gave us practical and spiritual guidance on how to respond. With the right actions and du’a, you can protect your heart, calm your thoughts, and place your trust in Allah’s protection.

Dua for Bad Dream (Nightmare)

Spit on your left three times

Seek refuge in Allah from shaytan and the evil of what you saw

Do not tell anyone about it (bad dream)

Turn and sleep on the opposite side to which you were sleeping on previously.

Get up and pray if you so desire

Turn Duas Into Action – Be the Answer to Someone’s Prayer

Every day, across the Ummah, hearts cry out in dua — not for luxury, but for safety, food, healing, and hope. These are the whispered pleas of orphans, widows, the poor, and the displaced. At Humanity Care Relief, we believe that your charity can be the mercy they’re praying for.
